Lab-Ind Resource Sdn Bhd & GeneSEQ Sdn Bhd
Lab-Ind Resource Sdn Bhd (LIR), established in 1999, is a biotech company that specializes in providing bespoke molecular solutions for the food and animal-health industry.
In 2007, the company set up a molecular laboratory focusing on aquatic disease detection and food safety for industrial players, universities, and government bodies, both in Malaysia and abroad. Our laboratory is MS ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 accredited and is authorised by the Department of Fishery as an Authorised testing provider for shrimp exports. Our laboratory processes more than 1,000 samples per month.
The laboratory has also expanded to provide contract testing services, Research & Development services, and consultancy for laboratory set-ups and capacity-and-capability building regionally.
Being a market leader in the industry, LIR recognized the potential of an advance technology platform: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). In 2019, GeneSEQ Sdn Bhd was officially set up to provide NGS services to academia and industry. GeneSEQ Sdn Bhd provides a complete service, which covers sample handling through to bioinformatics analyses.
To date, GeneSEQ has completed projects and collaborations in fish feed composition analyses, SARS-CoV-2 genome sequencing, phylogeny study, and whole genome sequencing of aquatic diseases among many others. Our collaborators include NaFISH, Worldfish, industry partners (like GK Aqua Sdn Bhd), and researchers in universities across Malaysia (and the APAC region).
We welcome visitors and collaborators to visits our laboratories. Follow the link below for updates and more information:

As a global leader in public health vector control, Valent BioSciences has been working for decades to develop the most comprehensive range of target-specific biorational solutions for public health professionals who protect people around the world against vector-borne disease and nuisance insects.
Mosquitoes are one of the deadliest animals in the world today and mosquito-borne diseases are responsible for more than one million deaths per year. Sustained mosquito control efforts are critical to prevent outbreaks from these diseases, and Valent BioSciences’ Public Health team works tirelessly with public health professionals across the globe to address the threat of mosquito-borne disease and to protect human potential around the world.
Valent BioSciences’ proprietary formulations containing Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Israelensis (Bti, strain AM65-52) in products such as VectoBac® provide sustainable, biological control of mosquito larvae that helps manage mosquitoes before they become biting, disease-vectoring adults.
The VectoBac WG formulation was the first bacterial larvicide to complete the World Health Organization Pesticide Evaluation Scheme (WHOPES). Various application methods of VectoBac WG allow for an effective supplement to Integrated Vector Management (IVM) programs aimed at reducing these species that have the capacity to transmit dengue, chikungunya, and yellow fever, as well as other arboviruses.
