Nominations for the SANDOSHAM MEDAL 2023 and NADCHATRAM MEDAL 2025 

The MSPTM is now calling for nominations for the SANDOSHAM MEDAL 2023 and NADCHATRAM MEDAL 2025

 

The following are the criteria for the nomination for the medals.

 

SANDOSHAM MEDAL

NADCHATRAM MEDAL

Criteria

1.  A Living person in recognition of outstanding scientific contribution to parasitology and tropical medicine in Southeast Asia

2.  No restriction as to the gender or profession of the candidate, nor as to the period during which the research was conducted

1.   A Living person in recognition of outstanding scientific contribution to parasitology and tropical medicine in Southeast Asia

2.   Age: ≤ 45 years old (by year, on 31st December 2025)

3.   No restriction as to the gender or profession of the candidate, nor as to the period during which the research was conducted

Nominator

A member of MSPTM for TWO FULL YEARS

Required Documents

Submit the following documents.

1.    A nomination letter signed by a proposer and a seconder (max 1000 words)

2.    A scanned copy of the IC/passport

3.    A scanned copy of the academic qualification certificate/transcript

4.    Contributions to MSPTM (max 300 words)

5.    Contributions to the community (max 300 words)

6.    A detailed curriculum vitae, including

(a)   Updated publication list, WoS H-index and Sum of Times Cited

(b)   scientific achievement

(c)    Administrative duties/professional appointment/consultation

(d)   Award and recognition

7.     A softcopy for each publication

8.     Other supporting information

The Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM) has been recognised as one of the Top 30 Finalists for the 2025 JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Award under Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This honour reflects the collective effort behind our submission,

“Promoting Health Equity through Science, Education, and Community Empowerment Against Neglected Tropical Diseases.”

Our work actively advances SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through:

  • Community-based disease surveillance and health-literacy programmes for B40 families, Orang Asli, migrant workers, pet owners, and the general public.
  • The Vellayan Community Fund, which since 2018 has supported 17 projects on disease prevention, health education, and sustainable livelihoods.
